Cap’n Ehab’s long-term vision for Gaspar’s Grotto never included being known world-wide as a destination for Ybor City’s famed “Cuban Sandwiches”.

Latin Times Magazine awarded us the Best Cuban Sandwich in Florida in 2012 and we found ourselves thrust into the yet spotlight again in 2016 when Food Paradise highlighted us in their “Hog Heaven” segment.
At Gaspar’s Grotto, we take pride in the style of Cuban food that we serve, keeping it as authentic as possible to the true Ybor City cusine. Almost all of our menu items are handmade, including our fresh Cuban Bread delivered daily from La Segunda.
Our Galley (kitchen) is run by Executive Chef Mark Hook.

Since coming aboard three years ago Cap’n Hook has done a lot of overhauling. He launched a new dining menu, anchored by our Award-Winning Cuban Sandwich, introduced a new Wing Menu and a new Late Night Menu, added his touch to our Sunday Booze Cruize Brunch and launched Gaspar’s Morning Breakfast.
Our Wing Menu includes 17 different sauces and features three of Cap’n Hooks Signature Wing Sauces that can only be found at Gaspar’s Grotto: “Tick Toc Crock”, “Jägermeister Sticky Wings”, and “Peanut Butter and Jelly Wings”.
Our Late Night Menu includes our Award Winning Cuban Sandwiches and lite bites such as pot stickers, loaded Tetris tots, cheese fries and more.
Gaspar’s Grotto offers catering services for events held off site. Our Catering Menu includes appetizers, platters, finger foods, and buffet style dining. Cap’n Hook can accommodate special requests and will work with you to create a menu that fits in your budget.
All of the dessert items on our menu are made in-house by our own Pastry Chef Maria Lema, including “Cap’n Hook’s Pirate Rum Cake”.
Gaspar’s Grotto’s Weekday Breakfast is served Monday – Friday from 7 am – 10 am and includes wonderful portions and great pricing. Our Boatswain Breakfast is served on Saturdays from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm featuring breakfast and lunch favorites.
Gaspar’s Grotto’s Famous Booze Cruize Brunch is featured every Sunday with two seatings offered between 11 am – 3:30 pm. Every week Cap’n Hook and his crew prepare a 50+ foot bar long buffet. The cost is only $39.95 and includes UNLIMITED Free Champagne & Mimosas and your 1st 3 oz carafe of vodka for the Bloody Mary Bar for $39.95. Kids age 10 and under are $17.95.
